Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma preferred

2. Must work well with children

3. Must be of good moral character

4. Possess the ability to read, write and communicate in English

5. Be in good physical health and ability to perform tasks contained herein

6. Provide evidence that a criminal record history check has been conducted and clearance has been given by the Department of Education, in accordance with 18A:6-7.1.

7. Provide information that includes current/former employers within the last twenty (20) years in which the employment involved direct contact with children; a written authorization that consents to current and former employers disclosing certain information; and a written statement as to whether the applicant has any employment history regarding child abuse and/or sexual misconduct in accordance with N.J.S.A.18A:6-7.6.

8. Provide evidence that health is adequate to fulfill the job functions and responsibilities with reasonable accommodation pursuant to 42 U.S.C. 12101 and in accordance with N.J.A.C. 6:3-4A.4.

9. Pass the State required Mantoux Intradermal Tuberculin Test as required by N.J.A.C. 6:3-4A.4.

10. Meet such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.

Reports to: Transportation Supervisor or Designee Supervises:

None Job Goal: To maintain a safe environment for students on the school bus. Performance Responsibilities:

Overall Responsibilities

1. Maintains control of the students at all times to ensure their safety while on the bus.

2. Reports any discipline issues immediately to the Transportation Supervisor.

3. Immediately reports any issues or concerns to the Transportation Supervisor.

4. Fulfills all requirements by the County Superintendent for School Bus Aides.

5. Checks the bus after each run, both at the school and after the last stop to sure that no materials or students are left on the bus.

6. Completes all training assigned by the Transportation Supervisor in accordance with the Policies of the Board of Education and New Jersey Guidelines of Pupil Transportation. WEST DEPTFORD TOWNSHIP SCHOOL DISTRICT JOB DESCRIPTION Bus Aide 2 | P a g e

7. Assists the Bus Driver with student safety measures and performs tasks assigned by the Bus Driver.

8. Performs all other tasks or duties assigned by Transportation Supervisor in accordance with the Policies of the Board of Education.

4. Exposure to a building in which a variety of chemical substances are used for cleaning, instruction, and/or operation of equipment.

5. Function in a workplace that is usually moderately quiet but that can be noisy at times.

6. Exposure to fumes from vehicle exhaust.
